Since the North American International Auto Show, and even before that if you count rumors, Audi has been saying that they will debut a new iteration of the TT this year. This is likely to support the company’s goal of adding 11 new models by 2020. While we’ve been very excited to track the developments regarding the Q1, S1 and A3, we are particularly interested in a new TT.
The TT was said to be implicitly teased via the Shooting Brake Concept shown at the NAIAS, which we wrote about it in January. This week, Audi’s German Youtube channel inched us a bit closer to the reveal via a video featuring a man named Martin—we have no idea who he is—and a cargo truck somewhere in South Africa. The video says that we can expect the “world premiere” of something on February 12, which prompts many questions:
- What’s in the truck?
- Why South Africa?
- Who is Martin?
Plenty of questions, and what with the weekend upon us, plenty of time to venture forth some answers. Leave us a comment on Facebook, Twitter, or just stop by Audi Raleigh on Capital Hills Drive to leave your guess with a representative. And don’t forget to check in next Wednesday to learn what was premiered!
